One day , the teacher asked her students, “ why is it when a person is angry, he will talk in a loud voice or shout ?”

A student after thinking quite a moment raises up her hand and answered, “ because at time like that he’s lost his patience, and because of that he shouted.”

“But…” the teacher asked again, “the other party talking to him is just right beside him. Why does he have to scream? Isn’t it possible for him to talk softer?”

Almost all the students gave a few reasons that is right according to their own opinions. But not one answer is satisfactory. The teacher then said, “ When two people are in anger, the distance between their hearts grew to be so far away even when they’re physically close to each other… Because of that, to reach to that distance, they have to shout. But the funny thing is this, the louder they shout, the more angry they get and the distance between their hearts grew even more further apart. Then they have to shout even louder than before.”

The teacher then continued, “In contrary, what happens when two people fall in love? Not only do they not shout at each other, but when they speak, the voice that escapes their mouth is so soft and small. No matter how soft, the two could hear it clearer than any crystals, why is that?” The teacher asked while paying attention to her students. They appeared to be thinking very hard but not even one dared to raise up their answers. “Because their hearts are so close, their hearts have no distance. Until the very end where words need not be spoken, just to look into each of their eyes is more than enough for them to understand what they wanted to say.”

When you’re consumed by anger, don’t let your hearts be distanced. Don’t let your desire to speak words that will create spaces between you consume you. Maybe at that very moment the wisest thing to do is to not say anything at all. `Cause then time will help you.
